You can exclude files and / or folders from the FolderSizes analysis process by establishing Scan Filter rules.
Manual Rule Definition
To exclude a specific folder path from a file system analysis:
| 1. | Click the Scan Filter button in the main window ribbon bar (or the File Report / Search window toolbar) |
| 2. | Check the "Apply scan filter to normal scans" and / or "Apply scan filter to file reports", according to your needs |
| 3. | Click the New Rule button and select New Folder Rule from the resulting pop-up menu |
| 4. | Select the Exclude Matches radio button near the top of the Rule Editor window |
| 5. | Within the Name match criteria tab, click the Browse button and select the folder you wish to exclude |
| 6. | Click OK to exit the Rule Editor window |
| 7. | Click OK to exit the Scan Filter window |
To exclude a subset of file types from a file system analysis, follow the steps provided above but add a File Rule and configure name matching accordingly.
Scan Filtering capability is available for analysis processes available for main window analyses, File Reports, and Searches.
Right-Clicking to Exclude Folders
You can also exclude one or more folders from a file system analysis process by right-clicking them within a detail view and selecting "Exclude folder(s) with Scan Filter Rule".
Doing so will automatically generate an exclusionary scan filter folder rule for you.
