  • I've lost my license key. How can I retrieve it?

If you placed your order online prior to November 27th of 2007, then please visit the eSellerate purchase support system.

If you placed your order online after November 27th of 2007, then please visit the BlueSnap (previously named Plimus) purchase support system.

Note that you'll need an order reference number to use the BlueSnap page referenced above. If you don't have your BlueSnap order reference number, you can find it here.

Finally, if you didn't purchase online through either of these systems, please email us and we'll help you investigate further.

  • My license key isn't working. What do I do?

The most common cause of this problem is that you're trying to register an installed version of FolderSizes that's different from the one you actually purchased.

For example - if you purchased the new FolderSizes version 6 release, the product registration details you receive will only be valid for version 6 (the serial name / number will not work with version 5.x or earlier). In this case, you'll need to download and install the version of FolderSizes that you actually licensed, which you can then "unlock" with your license code.

Finally, we always recommend that you use the Windows clipboard to copy and paste your product registration information into the software.

  • How is FolderSizes licensed?

A single-user FolderSizes license can be used by a single individual on a single computer.

If FolderSizes is to be used by more than one person, or installed on multiple computers, you will need separate licenses for each user / installation combination. We offer discounts on multiple single-user license purchases.

No special licensing is required for a single FolderSizes installation to scan remote computers over a network connection.

We also offer site-wide, country-wide, and enterprise-wide licenses that allows for unlimited use of FolderSizes within a specific geographic scope - please contact our sales team for details.

  • How does site-wide licensing work?

FolderSizes site-wide licenses allow the product to be installed on any number of computers (workstations and/or servers), and used by any number of individuals - as long as those computers and individuals are contained within sole licensed site of the purchasing organization.

A site, in this case, is defined as a single addressable location. During the product license ordering process, the licensee enters a physical address. This address then defines the area to which the site-wide license is bound.

  • How does country-wide licensing work?

FolderSizes country-wide licenses allow the product to be installed on any number of computers (workstations and/or servers), and used by any number of individuals - as long as those computers and individuals are contained within the licensee's sole country of order (e.g. the country designated at the time the license was ordered).

  • How does enterprise-wide licensing work?

FolderSizes enterprise-wide licenses allow the product to be installed on any number of computers (workstations and/or servers), and used by any number of individuals - regardless of where they are located. Entrprise-wide licenses are effectively global (e.g. world-wide).

  • What is your policy on upgrades?

Minor version upgrades (those that fall within the same major product version) are always free. When upgrading within the same major version (e.g. from v5.1 to v5.3), you can simply download and install the newer release. Your existing installation will be upgraded automatically.

Major version upgrades (e.g. from v5.x to v6.x) are available at half the price of a new (equivalent) product license. If you'd like to upgrade to a new major version, please see the upgrade section of our product ordering page.

Finally, we also provide a 45-day major version upgrade protection window for new license purchasess. This upgrade protection ensures that if we release a new major version within 45 days of your new license purchase, you're eligible for a free upgrade.
