Windows implements a security feature where mapped network drives are only visible to the specific user account that created them.
When you run FolderSizes as administrator, Windows changes the security context from your standard user account to an administrative context, making your previously mapped drives invisible to the application.
Simple Solution
To restore access to your network drives while running as administrator:
- Use the Map Network Drive button located in the FolderSizes ribbon bar
- Re-map your network drives within the administrative context
Once remapped, your network drives will remain accessible whenever you run FolderSizes as administrator.
